On October 13, 2001 Mr. George Anson Johnston, Jr. passed away at the WCA hospital in Jamestown, NY. George was a co-owner of the Hotel Lenhart and the last of the third generation of ownership. He is most remembered for his congeniality in greeting the guests. He will be missed by all.
Viewing will be at the Lind Funeral Home in Jamestown NY on Tuesday October 16, 2001 from 6:00pm to 8:00PM. A service will be held at the same funeral home on Wednesday October 17, 2001 followed by burial at Bemus Point Cemetery with full military honors.

On April 11, 2000, John Lenhart Johnston passed away at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY (his wife, Jane passed away last year, see below). John was a co-owner of the Hotel Lenhart with his brother George A. Johnston, Jr. John and George are third generation owners of the hotel. John will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the Lenhart. Those of you who visited the Lamplighter Lounge will remember him for his hospitality and magic tricks. His son and daughter, John Lenhart Johnston, Jr. and Barbara (Bebe) J. Johnston will help George continue on the management of the Lenhart into it's fourth generation of proud family ownership. All of you familiar with the Lenhart knew Mrs. Jane Brandt Johnston (aka Mrs. "J") as one of the key individuals responsible for the success of the Lenhart.
